I don’t know if I’ve mentioned but… I’m growing my hair out. I know!

I’m in the market for some more headbands and have been favorite-ing them all over the place.  I say favorite-ing instead of buying since ya know, I’m opening up a store (sorry, shameless plug – but hey, I’m excited!) and don’t have the funds.  I’m gonna choose one, I think (and unfortunately, it won’t be the Jennifer Behr).

headband-jennifer-behrThis is more jewelry than it is a headband – no earrings necessary with this beauty.  I’ll take her hair, too, btw.

I saw Rumi wear this Headmistress headband awhile back and love it so much!.  Obvi, she can pull it off – I, on the other hand, may not be so lucky.  The price is right, though – I was expecting it to be much more but it’s super reasonable!  Look at that, I’m talking myself into buying it while I blog!  p.s. her hair is super cute, too!

I also found this sparkly number by Gail Sorronda on fashiontoast as well.  I’m a sucker for anything with a sequin (aren’t we all?)

headband-gail-sorronda-fashiontoastI love the color of this Free People headband – would def go with a lot this summer and looks pretty comfy (it’s the worst when you’ve got a headband headache!)

And, of course, no headband post can be complete without talking about Love, Taza headbands.

I love all her handmade headbands but you’ve got to be on.your.game. to snatch one up – they sell out faster than fast when she stocks her shop.  I love them all and currently own the Bekah but they’re all so damn pretty!

I have some serious decisions to make, no?  Sorry I’ve been so MIA from the blog recently – it’s crunch time with the shop (opening April 30!) so I haven’t exactly been wearing the cutest outfits nor have I been as near my beloved computer as I would like.  Things should be back to normal by the end of the month, though!  Thanks for sticking around old friends, and a big hello to all our new readers!

xoxo,

I fell a little in love with Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw when I saw this video of ALK on Huff Post and though she was gorgeous, relatable and I liked that she said no to walking in Alexander McQueen’s crazy Lady Gaga heels (no offense, AMQ – RIP).  From what I’ve seen of her personal style too, she’s quirky, eclectic and isn’t afraid of color – which is a refreshing departure from a lot of the Alexander Wang model-y types (not hatin, just sayin).  She seems cool, in the Alexa Chung, Chanel Iman sorta way.

Anyway, then I saw that pink hair and – um, out of control! I died a little. Dip dyed magenta hair? Yes, yes, please!  jussttt…!! Grow, hair, grow! What do you think guys, too much?!?

lusting

Now that I’ve decided to grow my hair out (remember when it was this short??? Where has the time gone?!), I’ve been stock-piling photos of long, luxurious locks for motivation/inspiration.  It doesn’t hurt that all these women are on another level.  Like, fucking gorgeous, right? Pardon my french, but I’m just sayin.

Starting with the Holy Grail of Hair, Serena and Blair.  We can only worship at the altar, friends, there’s no crossing that threshold.

Katie Holmes, pre crazytown national hotline news.  She’s always killed it with her haircuts, but I do like that it seems she’s returning to her longer roots.

Olivia Palermo may make me cringe on The City (yeah, I still watch. no, I don’t really know why), but she’s stunning and her hair is always flawless.

I found this photo on Garance Dore‘s website and I fell pretty hard for this girl.  She may be one of the prettiest people I’ve ever seen..

Can’t do a hair post without including SJP.

…or Ashley Olsen, for that matter.  I can’t wait until I can put my hair up…. and party with a mess and tinsel white and pink….thing…in my hands.

Oh yeah, I did it,  I included Kristen Cavallari up in here.  Her hair is super bangin here. Get it? Bangin.  Bangs.

Whitney Port sans make-up and uh, not sans long gorgeous flowing locks.

Karla, back in the day.

Naomi, from the rockstar diaries.  She always looks like she just stepped out of an anthropologie catalog, knows how to rock the red lipstick like no other, always has a smile on her face and has some majorly covet-worthy locks.

Laura just introduced me to this blog, ascot friday, and we both love this girl already!  Her hair is ooc.  Perfectly messy and fun and big.  I want big hair.

So, it seems I am really in the market for some long, layered, messy, textured hair with either no bangs at all or a curtain of fringe.  Kellie – if you’re reading this – don’t let me cut my hair off in 2 months when I get bored of the in-between stage!!

Speaking of that, readers, what do you do to get passed the dreaded in-between stage? Bobby pins, headbands? Extensions are not an option, Kristen Cav, so don’t even go there (yeah, we’re all on to you)!

ah, the liberating feeling that comes from a long-awaited haircut. it’s funny how changing your hairstyle can not only make you look different but also your clothes look different. such a change can make you consider shapes and styles that maybe you hadn’t before, or it can make you eschew certain necklines or silhouettes that perhaps once worked but now don’t. either way, change is often a good thing because it keeps you feeling renewed.
