trying out a slightly different look here, with a darker hair color and the glasses. and, like megan, i can finally get my hair back in a ponytail! which is pretty gratifying– it’s nice to have options. change must be in the air, because in less than two weeks, my husband and i will be moving into our first house, and it’s got me both terrified and excited. moving, mortgage payments, grown-up life–pretty scary stuff. but! more space, creative freedom, a new chapter, building a life together, finally being able to have pets!–these are the things that make it worth it, and fun. it’s a bit bittersweet to be leaving our little apartment, which is the only place i’ve lived since i moved to fredericksburg five years ago and where many memories have been forged, but change is inevitable, and i know we’re ready. wardrobe-wise, i am looking forward to having a much bigger closet (and mike is looking forward to just having a closet, period). but it will also be a test of the things i own now, to see how much mileage i can get out of them, since saving will now have to come before spending (that’s another thing on the scary list). times like this make you appreciate clothes that can go the distance and that you can count on for the long haul.

  1. love the darker look on you, and i am always a fan of girls in glasses. this is such a great nerdy outfit (that is a total compliment!) congrats on the house, too.
